Creating a Respectful and Mindful Space

Our Agreements for Working Together

The following agreements form the basis for our shared work in the courses, workshops, and training programmes. They are not intended to restrict, but rather to create a framework in which curiosity, creativity, and connection can grow.

Our work is rooted in openness, trust, and mutual respect. We want to create a space in which people can express themselves creatively, try new things, and allow themselves to be vulnerable – without fear of having their boundaries crossed or being judged or devalued.

Our shared artistic work invites us to open ourselves to new experiences. This can be enriching, challenging, liberating, and at times emotionally intense. Not every feeling of discomfort means that someone has done something wrong – at the same time, we take it seriously when someone feels that their personal boundaries have been crossed. With this in mind, we invite all participants and teachers to reflect on their own responses and, where appropriate, to take responsibility for engaging with them consciously and mindfully – while also being aware of and respecting their own boundaries and those of others. Creating a respectful working environment is a shared responsibility of both teachers and participants.

Respect

  • We treat one another with respect and appreciation – regardless of gender, background, age, sexual orientation, identity, worldview, or level of experience.
  • Personal attacks, insults, discriminatory or disrespectful remarks, as well as deliberately disregarding a person’s identity or pronouns, have no place in our courses.
  • Respect applies equally to interactions among participants and to interactions between participants and teachers.

Boundaries and Consent

  • Both participants and teachers may only be touched with their consent – during exercises as well as outside of them. When in doubt: ask.
  • Consent can be withdrawn at any time. This will be respected without discussion.
  • We also respect other people’s personal and emotional boundaries beyond physical touch.
  • No one is required to take part in an exercise, complete it, or reveal more of themselves than feels right for them in the moment. This also applies to exercises carried out in pairs or groups.
  • Clearly communicating our own boundaries and taking the boundaries of others seriously is part of our shared responsibility.

Conflicts and Boundary Violations

  • If something feels uncomfortable or doesn’t feel right, please speak to Samuel, Maren, or another person involved in facilitating or leading the course as early as possible. We take feedback seriously and aim to address conflicts and boundary violations with care and responsibility.
  • Unintentional boundary violations can also be hurtful. We therefore ask for a willingness to receive feedback openly and to reflect on one’s own behavior.

Unacceptable Behaviour

  • Sexual harassment, physical or verbal violence, discriminatory behaviour, intimidation, as well as repeated or serious boundary violations, will not be tolerated.
  • Depending on the situation, we may respond with a clarifying conversation or, where necessary, exclusion from the event. In serious cases, exclusion may take immediate effect.

If anything is unclear or you have questions about these agreements, please feel free to approach us at any time.

Our aim is to create a working environment in which everyone feels as safe, respected, and welcome as possible, and where we can explore, learn, and grow together with joy.
